A note on very old versions
Versions before 2.9 lack the brightness/contrast controls and the improved cursor handling of newer releases. If you’re on Windows 10 or 11, there is no reason to run anything older than the current stable build.
Frequently Asked Questions
Should I use an old version of DMT?
Almost never. Each release fixes bugs and adds features, and the latest version (2.13) works on everything from Windows 7 to Windows 11. Only use an old build if a specific legacy setup demands it.
Are old versions still safe to download?
The files on SourceForge are the developer’s original uploads and haven’t been modified. Still, old versions miss years of bug fixes — including cursor and wallpaper fixes — so prefer the current release.
